Jaguar (Panthera onca)

The jaguar is the largest feline in the Americas and the most emblematic animal of the Pantanal. The Porto Jofre region is considered the best place in the world to observe it in its natural habitat, with high sighting rates during the dry season.

The species plays a crucial role in ecological balance, controlling populations of capybaras, caimans, and other animals. Jaguar sightings are usually made on boat safaris , where the feline's natural behavior can be observed without interference.

Pantanal Caiman (Caiman yacare)
